The Zagreb Academy was conceived to provide additional training options to junior players in the St George area. Coaches often cannot find time to provide additional training options to their players and may not have the expertise required to develop all aspects of the game.
The Zagreb Academy is headed by Steve Zoric who holds a AFC/FFA "A" Class License. Steve has designed the curriculum to foster the players ball mastery and football IQ so that players are more effective on game day.
Steve will be assisted by several experienced coaches who all have extensive experience coaching players at all levels from grassroots football to state league competitions.
All players at all levels can benefit from increased football ability to enhance their enjoyment of playing the game and the Zagreb Academy is designed to allow those kids with the desire to learn to improve their skills to better assist their team in either association or state league competitions.
Hurstville Zagreb FC competes both in the NSW state league NPL competition and also the Football St George grassroots association competition.
The desired result of this Academy is develop our juniors to develop and maximise players potential so that they succeed in any team they play in including our grassroots association teams or state league teams. Enjoyment is paramount.
Hurstville Zagreb was founded by Croatian immigrants in 1970. Football has a deep connection with this community as Croatia more than any other country produces results far greater than their population of less than 4 million inhabitants would suggest. There is a deep understanding and connection to football that is generational and the Zagreb Academy seeks to use this knowledge in the Australian context to develop players from all backgrounds.
The Zagreb Academy is available to all players, not just those registered with Hurstville Zagreb FC.
